In honor of Amiel Sr.'s 87th birthday, Amiel's subs supported the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure by donating 25% of all profits from both locations on June 6th! Check out this cool video celebration on the Fox Rochester website. Click here for the video.
Serving the Rochester Community
The Rochester Community has been an integral part of Amiel's history right from its humble beginning in 1963 at the corner of West Main and Brown (commonly known as Bullshead at that point in time) through its growth to over 20 locations throughout the Rochester city limits.
In the beginning, Amiel Sr., who tirelessly worked his West Main business alone, seven days a week, saw it grow quickly and in the process began to know his customers and his local neighborhood quite well. This early success afforded him the opportunity to become a contributor to the community in a variety of ways.
Early on, Amiel Sr. was responsive to the requests of the sisters and their missions at St. Mary's Hospital, his "neighbor" directly across the street. Additionally, he was known to assist the local children and families in need in a number of ways. Noticing the many children who stood outside the large glass window watching him make sandwiches, spurred him to set a table crafted of milk crates and a board so that any hungry child could have a carton of milk and a sub compliments of Amiel's.
Fifty years later, Amiel Jr. continues his father's legacy of support within the Rochester community. Amiel's has donated over 50,000 bottles of water and hundreds of sub platters to almost every charitable event that has requested his assistance in the past ten years alone.
Today, Amiel Jr. see's visitors who will stop by his stores to fondly recall their long-ago visits to Bullshead and how Amiel Sr. created memories for them that they still hold dear today.
